You will also love the views of the lake even from the kitchen! Saving the best for last, is our comfortable Living Room. Again with great lake views from the wall of windows and relaxed seating, you can enjoy another 55 inch flatscreen with your favorite shows while keeping an eye and ear on the beautiful water right outside your window. All and all, relaxation is the name of the game at this vacation home. Right down the stairs, is a Washer and Dryer in the basement that can be used at no charge. We will provide some laundry detergent in our kitchen pantry. Outside is a nice concrete drive for you to park your vehicle and boat trailer if you bring a boat. This home does include a small fishing boat for your enjoyment. You are welcome to bring along up to a 25 hp outboard motor to attach to the boat or simply use the boat paddles provided. There is also room at the pier to dock your own boat or jet ski if you decide to bring it for either fishing/waterskiing or just simply site-seeing. A very nice boat launch is just adjacent to our home. Life preservers will be provided at our home but we always stress safety with all water activities including knowing proper boating rules and so note that guests proceed at their own risk and hold the homeowner free of any liability associated with all water activities. Across the lake is the Pike Lake National Park for picnics, swimming at a beautiful sandy beach and picturesque hiking trails thru the Kettle Moraine. These wonderful hiking trails are open all year long and provide great views of the countryside and Pike Lake. In the Winter time , we have excellent ice fishing basically right outside our door and the annual Ice Fishing Tournament at Reefs Point, a resort/bar right down the way from our home. Snowmobiling is also a great sport on the lake during the winter of fun on the ice for that and beautiful ice skating right outside your door. After an afternoon of hiking or a great day on the Lake, we have some excellent restaurants and pubs in and around the city of Hartford. From Mexican restaurants such as Casa Tiquilla to great fish frys ,burgers and pizza at the Mine Shaft, there is a wonderful variety of Eateries within minutes of our home. Also, after dinner at the Mine Shaft, there is a huge amusement game room at their location for all ages to enjoy. Not to forget the Subways, Dominos and McDonalds of the world, we have plenty of those also right near-by as well. The kids will also enjoy the outdoor basketball and tennis courts on hwy 60, a few minutes from the house. Approximately 20 minutes from our home, you may want to visit Milwaukee to experience some of the best festivals in the country. Milwaukee is also rich in culture in our new Art museum on Lake Michigan and Natural History Museum downtown. Many people love to visit the Milwaukee Public Market which is a great place to experience different foods and buy from local vendors. Milwaukee is also home to the famed Milwaukee Brewers baseball and Milwaukee Bucks basketball Teams. Your family would really enjoy the atmosphere of any of their games. There really are countless things to do in the area all year long and after a busy day experiencing these festivities , it would be very relaxing coming back to our home on the lake to enjoy time on the water or just sitting on the pier to soak up the views. Enjoy lake living on the shores of Pike Lake with 90 feet of prime frontage and stunning views overlooking the lake. This is a 4+ bedroom with 2 bathrooms. We only have this property and clean and care for it ourselves to ensure everything is ready to make those great memories. Duvet cover and blankets are washed after each guest. Fishing boats may be rented at nearby (three buildings away) Reef Point Resort. They also have row boats, canoes, and additional paddle boats, for those looking to get some exercise. This home has a lakeside patio with adjustable height charcoal grill, 2 patio tables, chairs, etc. Home is about 1950 square feet, (more than just a cottage), with central heat and air conditioning. One bedroom is huge with bay window overlooking the lake and a queen size bed (replaced in 2017). The second upstairs bedroom, very large, has a queen size bed (plus a race car toddler bed) and large windows to enjoy the unobstructed lake views. Race car bed could also be moved to the other upstairs bedroom if you wish. The third bedroom is located on the main level with two twin beds and great lake views. There is also a full size futon on the first floor. There is a Porta Crib for your youngest sweethearts. There is very ample paved parking and a large rear grassy yard; lakeside fire pit for campfires; boat launch very nearby (at Reef Point Resort) and at Pike Lake State Park across the lake with a beach and great hiking trails (they have maps that tell you how long each route is). No Smoking! No Cats! The home you would be renting is the closest building to the lake. The lake side of the home is close to the waters edge, about 30 feet. Don t be fooled by some maps or GPS systems that make it seem far away . That happens because the lot is 397 feet deep and it shows the address as the spot at the road or the center of the lot and not where the house is. It is known as a premier fishing lake in /Southeastern WI and the fishing is great. On 7/14/14 the neighbor caught a 28 inch walleye. Even in winter there were over 50 ice fishing shanties at one time. You will love it here if you enjoy catching Walleyes, Bass, Pike, Northern, or pan fish. (Sept.2011 - A renter reported catching a 30 inch Nothhern from the pier in their first three hours there. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) helps out the fish population by stocking. The sun over the Lake and the colors of the sky are awsome on most days. You will probably also enjoy the beautiful fall color in late September and October with the trees at Pike lake State Park directly across the lake. I saw three deer last time I was on a short hike at the park. Only 7.8 miles, about 13 minutes to Erin Hills Golf Course - site of the 2017 US Open! Near other local great golf courses. Only 20 minutes from Milwaukee with a world class zoo, Betty Brin Childrens Museum as well as Milwaukee Public Museum, Milwaukee Brewer baseball, art galleries, Brewery tours, Pabst mansion tours, Lake Michigan Lakefront and beaches, live theater, comedy clubs, many ethnic festivals and the largest music fest in the USA - Summerfest, Wisconsin State Fair in early August, etc. Property is about one hour from Madison, WI; an hour and a quarter from Appleton,WI; and less than two hours from Chicago. The Glacier Hills Ranger House is located in Glacier Hills County Park and is located on what geologists term an interlobate moraine. Between ten and twenty thousand years ago, the Green Bay and Lake Michigan Glacier Lobes butted against each other. When they receded, approximately 10,000 years ago, they left the interesting and unique landform we call the Kettle Moraine. The park was originally developed as St. Amelians Orphanage Youth Camp and became a Washington County Park in 1976. The park consists of 140 acres of land and includes approximately 1,200 feet of frontage on Friess Lake. The rental house is located just 150' from the Main Hall & Chapel, which often holds large events and weddings throughout the year (weddings often go until 11:00 pm - 12:00 pm on Saturday evenings and can be heard from the house). Anyone who is/has been involved in lake living, it's all about the location, frontage, and of course the lake itself of where you swim, boat, and play. Please E-mail with any questions you may have after you read below. 3 bedroom home on the "Gold Coast" (east side) of Big Cedar Lake. The property is very private and sits on a 2 acre lot. It was totally remodeled in 2018. The lake frontage/shoreline is 125 feet out the backdoor of the house. You'll always be warm and not chilled as this side of the lake has the afternoon sun, which is very important, unless of course it's a 100 degrees, but no worries if it is, we have you covered with shade and umbrellas, too. The entire portion of the lake off the property has a wonderful hard/sandy bottom and depth from three to eight feet in all areas off the shoreline, where you would typically swim, etc. No weeds and very clear water (This area is considered one of the best shorelines on the lake.) Swimming, views, and sunsets are exceptional from the shoreline and/or deck on top of the boathouse. Very easy access to the lake as you are not high and very little stairs/incline to the shore. The Shoreline is very private and very easy access to get into the water. Bring your camera as pictures will have backdrops to die for. Dry and updated boathouse and modern pier (For up to two boats) are fantastic along with included "lake toys" noodles, rafts, inner tubes, goggles, etc. Swimming raft anchored in water, 4 paddle boards, 2 kayaks, floats, games, corn hole (bags) , etc. all for your use. You can even sit in the boathouse for some shade and be just 5 feet from the water or if it rains/drizzles. (Change area, electric, refrigerator, etc. all in the nice and clean boathouse!) Exceptional Biking and hiking trails are just a few miles away (Ice Age Trails) and great walking/running just off the property. It's a very spacious and It feels like you are "up north" as you enter the private drive and you will not be "crowded" due to size of the property. Neighbors on each side are 100-200 feet away on the shoreline and property. There is a 100 plus year old vacant cottage (Used for storage) next door to the property, which is really cool to see. The home has a beautiful sun room that faces the lake and gives you the feeling of floating on the water! Kitchen has all new appliances and plenty of kitchenware. The living room, bedrooms, bathroom are in beautiful condition and "not lived in". There is no personal belongings in the house and it's cleaned by a professional maid service between renters with professional/commercial cleaning products. Central air, nice windows w/great breeze, ceiling fans, storage, etc. There are two smart TV's, WiFi, cable, movies, games, wireless speaker, etc. all included. Beautiful and comfortable outdoor furniture for the shoreline/pier and the deck on top of boathouse has very nice patio furniture for hanging out, "boat watching", meals, relaxing etc. Outdoor Gas Grill, too! Bring your boat (Secluded private Launch is 2 miles away with no restrictions.) You can drop your boat and drive trailer back to the house. Our 3+ bedrooms are furnished with the highest quality, firm mattresses, linens and extra pillows, and its 2 full bathrooms have extra bath/hand towels as well as body wash and shampoo. The main level’s Queen Bedroom sleeps two, and the twin bedroom, 2 twin beds, also sleeps two. The lower level’s Master bedroom sleeps 2, while the comfortable TV room is furnished with a twin day-bed, sleeping 2. The main level’s full bathroom is a tub/shower combination, while the lower level’s full bathroom is a shower only. The lake is a shallow lake and is perfect for swimming, kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, fishing and relaxing. The house faces east, allowing early birds an amazing sunrise over the lake. The lake is approximately 3’ deep at the end of our pier, so no diving but it’s perfect to cool off and perfect for kids. The bottom is a sandy bottom but does get mucky when you explore further away from our pier. Our house is at the southern end of Butternut Island. There are no sidewalks, it is a quiet, dead end street and has amazing, friendly neighbors. Our house has been updated and well maintained over the years. We just completed a large kitchen renovation! Lots of room for several cooks to be in the kitchen while you have several seats at the breakfast bar asking for when it is dinner time! It is the perfect house to host a group. The kitchen table holds 10 and is the perfect place to enjoy a meal or play games.
